Product and Quotient Properties of Exponents
This lesson helps students understand two foundational exponential properties: The Product and Quotient Properties of Exponents. Students will collaborate to formulate a rule for these properties. Ultimately, students should conclude that when the same bases are being multiplied, exponents will be added; and when the same bases are being divided, exponents will be subtracted. As the lesson progresses, students will apply these rules to simplify expressions of various difficulties.
Composing and Decomposing a Number
In this lesson, students will learn how to compose a number with base 10 blocks, decompose a ten, and then compose the same number a different way.
Using Linear Equations to Count Pecans
Students will write linear equations in point-slope form given two points via a verbal description.

More Super Duper Math
Students will gather objects to compare quantities and justify their answers pictorially and verbally. They will use their vocabulary posters and accountable talk menus to discuss with their partners.
Are You Part of Our Family?
The teacher will introduce Fact Families through literature. Students will create and represent various Fact Families within 10.
Equations in the Real World
Students will create and solve equations with variables on one side before comparing the equation with another to determine at what rate they will be equal.
Centers in Subtraction
Students will participate in multiple centers including a guided math center that reinforces subtraction concepts.
Rise Over Run! Let’s Have Fun!
Students will collaboratively practice identifying and graphing slope and y-intercept.
Lines of Symmetry
Students will work collaboratively with a partner to discover what is a line of symmetry.
Teacher Introducing Lesson
The Picture Graph Party
Students will explore and create picture graphs through collaboration and group work.

It’s All About the Bend, No Breaking
Students will experiment with choosing tools to measure around a previously created pet habitat in preparation for choosing appropriately sized food bowls. Students will use a graphic organizer to record tools chosen and to explain why those tools were or were not a good choice for continuous measurement.
Subtraction Seekers
Students will be introduced to subtraction in an inquiry-based lesson that uses concrete examples and allows students to explore through different settings and scenarios.

Humpty Dumpty's Mystery Fall
Students will listen to the story of Humpty Dumpty and share what they know about the nursery rhyme character. Then, they will help solve the math mystery of Humpty Dumpty and determine the number of broken eggs by finding the missing addend.

Making Ten is Easy as Pie!
Students will practice composing 10 by interacting with a counting story, playing a dice game with ten frames and response sheets, and participating in a small group to extend the learning with three addends.

Up, Up, and Away
Students will determine an appropriate tabular/graphic/formulaic linear solution given 3 sets of data points.
Understanding the Equal Sign and Balancing Equations
Students will apply addition strategies as they complete four different station rotations to help understand that the equal sign represents a relationship where the expressions on each side of the equal sign represents the same value.
Balancing Act
Students use a pan balance model and manipulatives to identify a total that balances two parts. The use of the pan balance will help to develop the concept of equality. Students will develop the language of equality by reading and identifying the following expressions; balances, is the same as, is equal to, and equal before the symbol for equality is introduced. Students will identify an unknown part in a balance situation. Students will communicate ideas, explain, and justify how they solved problems.

Math on the Farm
In learning stations, students compose and decompose numbers up to 10, in more than one way, using objects, pictures, story mats, tens frames, and number bond mats.
The Shapes Around Us
Students will make connections between real-world objects and the attributes of two-dimensional shapes.
Students working in their group
Four Representations of Linear Relationships
Given one representation of a linear relationship, students will create a poster displaying the other three representations of linear relationships.
