Knowledge and Skills Statement
Composition: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking using multiple texts--writing process. The student uses the writing process recursively to compose multiple texts that are legible and uses appropriate conventions.
Demonstrated Proficiency of ELA.3.11.E
After students complete their piece of writing, host a publishing party as a celebration of their writing efforts. Invite parents and school staff such as the principal and other teachers. Have students read their piece of writing to others as the guests tour the room.
Further Explanation
This SE requires students to know the sequence of steps that are included in writing such as prewriting, drafting, revising/editing, proofreading, and publishing. Students prepare refined, completed drafts for specific intended audiences.
