Observe students using technology. The teacher may ask students questions about computer hardware, devices, and software. These questions should include identification questions, as well as those that prompt for explanations and comparisons.
Examples:
- What is this called, and what does it do? (Display or point to a hardware component or device.)
- What is the difference between an input and output device?
- What is an example of an input or output device?
- What does this software or program do? (State the name of the software students use.)
- What does an _______ do? (Fill the blank with the name of the hardware used by students.)
- Compare _____ and _____? (Fill the blanks with the names of hardware, devices, and software the students use.)
- What does ____ do in this program? (List a software function.)
