The further explanation is designed to be a resource for educators that helps them better understand the topic their students are learning. Further explanations may be written at a more complex level than would be expected for students at the grade level.
Impacts of technology on different communities could include examples from various fields. In education, virtual field trips allow students access to experiences regardless of where they live. In community development, the invention of the air conditioner and advanced irrigation techniques led to more community development in arid desert regions.
Demonstrated Proficiency
Provide students with a list of familiar technologies, and ask them to describe how the technology impacts people.
