Introduction
Welcome to the Mathematics Achievement Academy: Problem Solving and Discourse, Kindergarten training.
In the Mathematics Achievement Academy: Problem Solving and Discourse, Kindergarten, participants will
- build knowledge and understanding of a problem-solving heuristic that applies to any mathematical content strand;
- identify actions of a proficient problem solver;
- build knowledge and understanding of mathematical discussions that complement the use of a problem-solving heuristic;
- build knowledge and understanding of formative assessment strategies that focus on making student thinking visible to the teacher; and
- build knowledge and understanding of five practices that support mathematical discourse to strengthen student voice and agency with a problem-solving heuristic.
The following sections contain the materials you need for turn-around training. Please download the files you need to your computer prior to the scheduled training to prevent issues with connectivity to the internet.

How do I Order a Course?
Use the Course Request Form to have the TEA create Canvas courses for you. Please request your online course as soon as possible as it may take up to two weeks for courses to be available for your session.
