Knowledge and Skills Statement
Multiple genres: listening, speaking, reading, writing, and thinking using multiple texts--genres. The student recognizes and analyzes genre-specific characteristics, structures, and purposes within and across increasingly complex traditional, contemporary, classical, and diverse texts.
Demonstrated Proficiency of ELA.K.8.C
After completing a read-aloud, have students act out the story. Use a simple familiar story such as The Three Little Pigs. Use a checklist or anecdotal notes during the student preparation for the drama to document whether students can discuss main characters in drama.
