Vertical alignment shows student expectations in the same subject area at different grade levels that are related to or build upon one another.

Previous grade

SLA.K.1.E

develop social communication such as introducing himself/herself, using common greetings, and expressing needs and wants.

SLA.1.1.E

develop social communication such as introducing himself/herself and others, relating experiences to a classmate, and expressing needs and feelings.

SLA.2.1.E

develop social communication such as distinguishing between asking and telling.

SLA.3.1.E

develop social communication such as conversing politely in all situations.

SLAR.7.1.E

Based on the student's language proficiency level, the student is expected to develop social communication and produce oral language in contextualized and purposeful ways.

SLAR.8.1.F

Based on the student's language proficiency level, the student is expected to develop social communication and produce oral language in contextualized and purposeful ways.

SLAR.E1.1.F

Based on the student's language proficiency level, and with appropriately provided English language development scaffolding, the student is expected to develop social communication and produce oral language in contextualized and purposeful ways; and
