Developing and sustaining foundational language skills: listening, speaking, discussion, and thinking -- oral language. The student develops oral language through listening, speaking, and discussion.

Conventions of language are the rules broadly agreed upon as standard for communicating in written or oral form. In kindergarten, these include using correct word order, pronouns, subject-verb agreement, word tenses, sentence structure, and complete sentences.
