Knowledge and Skills Statement
Digital citizenship--privacy, safety, and security. The student practices safe, legal, and ethical digital behaviors to become a socially responsible digital citizen.
Demonstrated Proficiency
Do a quick check during small-group or one-on-one instruction.
Present students with examples of safe and unsafe online account management practices. Ask students to give a thumbs up or thumbs down if the example is a safe or unsafe.
Examples:
- Sharing a password with friends
- Changing passwords
- Logging off software and online accounts
- Leaving a device without logging off
Notes:
- Although this standard and assessment are the same in kindergarten, it is important to reassess student knowledge to ensure account safety practices are automatic in nature.
- Additional examples may be found in local policy or technology center rules.
