Knowledge and Skills Statement

Computational thinking--foundations. The student explores the core concepts of computational thinking, a set of problem-solving processes that involve decomposition, pattern recognition, abstraction, and algorithms.

Use a checklist when observing students working in teams to document their progress toward proficiency of this expectation. The checklist might include the following:

  • The students discuss the steps.
  • The students identify and ask questions about steps they do not understand.
  • The students complete the steps or tasks successfully.
