Knowledge and Skills Statement
Digital citizenship--ethics and laws. The student recognizes and practices responsible, legal, and ethical behavior while using digital tools and resources.
Demonstrated Proficiency
Present examples of digital content with some background information about the content owner. Ask the students who owns the content and why it is important to respect the owner who created the digital content. Ask students to explain the process for appropriately using content created by other people.
Examples:
- I created this digital artwork. Who owns this content? What do you do if you want to use my artwork in your project? Why is it important that you ask my permission and give me credit for my digital artwork?
- <Name of person in class> created this digital artwork. Who owns the content? What do you do if you want to use <Name of person>'s artwork in your project?
- Who created this <name digital artifact>? Who owns it? What do I do if I want to use this in my project?
- I found this photograph online. I did not know who owns this picture. Can I use this photograph if I do not know who owns it?
