TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS.7.11 — Vertical Alignment

Vertical alignment shows student expectations in the same subject area at different grade levels that are related to or build upon one another.

Previous grade
TA.3.11.A
compare and contrast applications such as word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation tools for relevance to an assigned task; and
TA.4.11.A
evaluate and choose applications for relevance to an assigned task; and
TA.5.11.A
identify file types for text, graphics, and multimedia files; and
TA.6.11

create and design files in various formats such as text, graphics, video, and audio files.

TA.7.11

choose a variety of digital tools to create, share, and communicate digital artifacts.

TA.8.11.A
combine various file formats for a specific project or audience; and

TECHNOLOGY APPLICATIONS.7.11 — Breakout of skills

Breakouts are the component parts that make up a student expectation. A breakout shows a distinct concept a student should know or a distinct skill that a student should be able to demonstrate.

The student is expected to
choose a variety of digital tools
to create digital artifacts
to share digital artifacts
to communicate digital artifacts

The cross-curricular connections are designed to help educators make content connections between the technology applications TEKS and other subject areas. The standards below illustrate alignment between grade level content areas which may help educators develop cross-curricular lessons. These connections do not represent all possible connections that might be made.

SS.7.22.C create written, oral, and visual presentations of social studies information

English Language Arts and Reading

ELAR.7.12.J use an appropriate mode of delivery, whether written, oral, or multimodal, to present results

Fine Arts

Art.MS.1.2.C produce artworks, including drawings, paintings, prints, sculptures/modeled forms, ceramics, fiber art, photographic imagery, and digital art and media, using a variety of materials
