Knowledge and Skills Statement

Data literacy, management, and representation--collect data. The student defines data and explains how data can be found and collected.

Ask students to identify non-numerical data collections from a list containing non-numerical and numerical data collections. Then ask students to collect non-numerical data and present their findings to the class.

Data collection examples:

  • Eye colors of classmates
  • Hair colors of classmates
  • Favorite foods
  • Favorite school subject
