Demonstrated Proficiency
Observe students when using keyboards. Ask each student to demonstrate proper hand and body position when keyboarding. Continue to observe students over time to determine if students can maintain proper positions. For example,
- feet are supported by the floor or foot rest;
- the back is supported by a chair;
- knees and hips are generally parallel to the floor;
- hands, wrists, and forearms are straight; and
- the head is pointed forward and straight.
